Passport and Visa

Croatia is a member of the European Union but does not belong to the Schengen area.

Participants from outside the EU have to possess a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of the Conference. Please check your visa requirements at the web-site of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs www.mvp.hr .

If an entry visa is required, please allow sufficient time for this procedure

Upon request the Congress Secretariat will send a personal invitation to registered Conference participants only

To request an official letter of invitation for your visa application, be sure to have the following information ready when processing your request: your full name as it appears on the passport and your passport number.

Disclaimer: This procedure is intended to assist participants who need to obtain a visa or permission to attend the WCNA 2022 and is not an official invitation covering fees and/ or any other expenses or financial support for the conference. WCNA 2022 is not to be held responsible for the outcome of your visa application. Those persons needing an official invitation letter in order to attend the congress may contact tatjana@filidatravel.hr specifying the necessary details.

 

Credit Cards, Currency and Exchange

The official currency in Croatia is Croatian Kuna (HRK). Exchange facilities are offered at the airport, in hotels, and at the exchange offices and desks of banks.

Visa and Master Card are accepted at ATMs, in hotels, first class restaurants and city stores, but you should ask or look for the logo before ordering a service.

Language
The official language of the conference is Croatian and English.

Tipping
It is customary to give a tip of 10% over the amount of the bill at restaurants (unless service charge is already included) and in taxis.

Time Zone

The time zone in Croatia is GMT + 1 hour. Daylight Saving Time is used until the end of October.

Electricity
Electricity is supplied at 230 V, 50 Hz. Round, European-style two-pin plugs are used, different from that used in some other countries, e.g. the USA, the UK and Japan. Appliances designed to operate on 110/120 Volts need a voltage converter and a plug adapter.

Shopping Hours

The usual shopping hours are from 08:00 to 20:00, in big shopping centres up to 21:00. For further information please contact the Registration Desk.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the conference building, restaurants and/or at the venues for the social functions. Smokers are required to smoke outdoors. Smoking is prohibited in public buildings, public transport, taxis, buses and trains.

Insurance
The Organizing Committee cannot assume responsibility for injuries or losses occurring to persons or personal belongings during the Conference. Participants are therefore advised to travel with a valid insurance package.

In the case of COVID-19 extreme situation that may lead to the cancellation of the congress registered participants are entitled to money refund.

 

 

BADGES

All delegates and guests will receive a name badge at the registration desk.

The badge will be the official meeting document and should be worn at all times

All congress participants must have one of the following:

Proof of vaccination. It will only be valid if it proves that you are fully vaccinated, i.e.:

    • Seven days after the second shot for two-shot vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca (Vaxevria and Covishield));
    • Four weeks after the shot for one-shot vaccines (Johnson & Johnson);
    • Seven days after the shot for vaccines administered to people who have already had COVID-19 (only one dose is necessary).
      Only vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) (Pfizer (Comirnaty), Moderna, AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Johnson & Johnson (Janssen)), or AstraZeneca (Covishield) will be accepted.

If you are not vaccinated

A negative PCR test taken less than 72 hours before departure or a negative antigenic test taken less than 48 hours before departure.

If you have previously contracted COVID-19, instead of a negative test result you may present a certificate of recovery dated more than 11 days and less than 6 months prior to the date of arrival. A certificate of recovery is a document issued to persons who have contracted COVID-19, upon presentation of a positive RT-PCR or antigenic test.
